I think I have the same problem. I cut for awhile and then I overeat so no weight ever stays off. I'm trying the fasting now though. That has guaranteed cut calories. I'll weigh myself this week to see if I've lost anything in the two weeks.
on a high fat diet you don't cut calories, the more fat you eat the more waight you lose.I know,i lost 120lb the Atkins way,and didn't exercise.

I mean, no offense, but that's just nonsense. You might not count calories and feel more satiated from the high fat diet thereby eating less calories than you think - but adding more calories and loosing fat from that... that's not how physics works.

When i say you don't count calories, obviously you can't stuff yourself all day.My calorie intake was between 2000-2500 per day,the waight dropped off.

Well, depending on your physiology and level of activity that would have been a caloric deficit.

The first week i lost 10lb,then averaged 3lb a week.The atkins diet works,60% fat 30%protein 10% carbs.Does your diet work.

I'm not on a diet, just maintaining my weight, though I'd rather have to add calories now I suppose since I've started training again. My appettite's not too pronounced, though.

and once again...this is why losing weight is so hard!!! Every body is different and just because something works for one person doesn't mean it will work for another. Bleh! I was just whining. I think this conversation is over, unless anyone else just wants to whine with me. :p

I thought Jason Fung's The Obesity Code was a good book about weight loss. He's a kidney specialist who treats many diabetics. He's got some videos on youtube as well. The main goal is getting insulin down through healthier eating, fewer carbs and sugars. I've been doing this approach for a couple months, mainly eating meats and veggies. Difficult at first, it got easier, but I'm a newbie of course. So many people think they understand nutrition but I think almost no one does.

True. At the same time, sometimes people look at you in the eye and say something like, "to lose weight you need to eat less calories than you burn."

I personally feel and I know with i don't have depression bvy the way, that it is t he medications to cause the weight gain in the first place.

Iwas once weighing 8 s tone, I'll have a strong interest in working out, and attending class groups, years later, then the came the crunch of mental health, sending everything out of my head.

The lowest fr om around 10st, I've every managed to reduce to, is 9 and a half stone.

With my med, I feel is the problem of all of the sugars intake, that the med is produced with, I can't have melts becasue of the aspartame, so there we have it.

Yes, I am still working out today, not literally no.

Best regards all.

Natalie,

London UK.
