Yesterday... I expressed what I was feeling, as a way of caring for myself.

Anyone else want to share what they've done?

I thought it might be nice to encourage each other, in the little things that we do to show ourselves that we matter, that we're worth looking after and being nice to. Even when we don't feel like doing it, or feel that we deserve it. We do, and the little things can make a difference :)

I don't know if this counts, but I shaved, and it felt good looking in the mirror afterwards at the neat job. I use hair clippers on the lowest grade for a bit of designer stubble.

I've done nothing but clean and child mind all day, but this is a good idea Alice.

I anticipated some reading might feel this way. I've felt that way too :grouphug: Sometimes the selfhate is uppermost and that's when it's hardest to be nice to ourselves, and also when we need some self care and self-kindness the most though :low: Sorry you're feeling this way BP.

I've sometimes managed to treat myself nicely even when I'm feeling I don't want to (cos I hate myself, or feel I don't deserve nice treatment). And doing it without wanting to/feeling it, can still sometimes send a message that you matter, even if you feel you don't, iyswim? I find this with food. I think 'what's the point in fixing myself something nice to eat, I won't enjoy it anyway, and it's too much effort', but I'm sometimes surprised to find it was worth doing this bit of self care, and I do feel a little better for it. I think it sends a message to my brain that I do care about myself (or at least want to), just I'm finding it hard to feel it or express it.

I think posting here is self care BP, and wanting others to know how you're feeling :peace:

Well, yesterday I told everyone that it was me time and I went to bed and had a 3 hour nap. everyone survived.
Today, I got up early and got the little bus to the market and had a wander about and a coffee.
Tomorrow I am going to see Santa with the little ones :) I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Made self a "proper" cup of tea with teapot at 4 am this morning because is what felt I needed

Yesterday: had a second nice drink (soft drink) even though it felt indulgent, cos the first one was so nice.

Today: not gonna put too many demands on myself, and leave dealing with stuff that takes too much brain power until my brain feels up to it.

I spent twice as long taking a wash and bathing my face this morning, it is my way of developing mindfulness.
Feeling the warm flannel on my face made me feel so chilled out and cleared my thoughts for the day ahead :)

Haven't done much self care lately,one of my big problems.
I did made a nice breakfast for myself because i haven't been eating well latley also so i guess that's what i did.
And i did my usual meditation.

No caffeine day yesterday, including chocolate, everything with caffeine. Spent most of day on sofa horizontal. Had a barnstorming sleep last night, best for ages. Had a really good day today. I need to do more of these caffeine detoxes!
