I have BPD and I was wondering what medications people take for a personality disorder.

I take at lunch 50mg Quetiapine, 150mg trazodone.

At night I take 300mg Quetiapine, 150mg trazodone, 5mg Nitrazepam and 7.5mg of Zopiclone.

I also have when needed Lorazepam 1-2mg, Clonazepam 0.5-1mg and promethazine 25-50mg.

Holy smokes, that would knock me out for a week. It sounds like far too much sedation.

Mind you, everyone’s body chemistry is different. But do you struggle to keep awake/have coherent thought?

I’m on 50 mgs of quetiapine for sleep at night and I find it makes my brain quite foggy.

I have to have the Quetiapine at that dose or else my anxiety makes me get psychotic symptoms. All of the sedation is to try calm my anxiety

Im taking Zoloft and I use melatonin supplements at night to make sure I actually sleep and don’t stay up on my phone for hours.

Therapy too. Are you doing that now also?

Idk those meds by the generic names so idk what they do all together but I assume you’ve used some trial and error with your doc to get the combo right. If they’re working that’s good. If you feel they’re causing side effects or something you could go to another doc for a second opinion.

it can be very difficult at times
I could imagine, I keep thinking of stopping my meds but then I think what sort of state will I be in, suppose it's the fear factor of withdrawal symptoms

the more you experience the symptoms, the more you can be self aware and learn how to manage them I think, but it depends on the intensity
