Carers IB?
I would presume it is a benefit for carers but wondered why my MHSW sent me a leaflet on it as I don't have a carer and am thinking I am being dumped my the CMHT.
Being stupid I know but the unknown spooks me.:(

Just saw this by chance. I know a few people who get this, and there were a couple om Panorama a few months back:

"Carer's Allowance is the main state benefit for carers so it's important to find out if you can receive it. Carer's Allowance is currently worth £53.10 a week.

To qualify you need to meet all the rules. Please check each of the rules carefully as they are quite complicated.

* You must be 16 years old or over
* You must look after someone for at least 35 hours a week
* The person you look after must receive a qualifying disability benefit
* If you work you must not earn more than £95
* You must not get one of a list of other benefits
* You must be living in the UK when you claim Carer's Allowance
* You must not be a full-time student "

It could just be a mistake. Never underestimate human incompetence.

Are you confident enough to pick up the phone and ask them (or write)? Put them on the defensive: ‘What’s this irrelevant leaflet you have sent me? Explain yourselves’, etc.

Remember that they are the servants in the relationship.
