What is my diagnosis? Anyone Else?

Ok, here is what I am dealing with:

- Extreme irritation before eating. I don’t like being talked to while cooking and I like to be alone when I eat so I can eat as much as I like and enjoy it without being judged. Hate sharing food at restaurants and do not want to be talked to when picking out what I want to eat from a menu.

-Always a huge binge before I start a new diet. Like a ‘last supper’.

- Stick with super restrictive diets until I weigh myself and I have not lost more than a pound - then freak out and eat everything.

- Hate seeing and hearing other people eat. Grossed out by it.

- Used to take diet pills from 16 to 26 years old. Now I only take 200 milligrams of caffeine a day.

- Hate meat on bones or any weird consistency in food textures. Food basically has to be overcooked.

- Food consumes all my thoughts. I’m always on a crazy diet or binging before starting a crazy diet.

- Lots of shame. Wish I could be thin and have a healthy relationship with food. I enjoy working out and am willing to do the work but I don’t know how to control the binging and restrictiveness when it comes to food.

What is this? Does anyone else deal with these symptoms - especially the extreme irritation before eating? I feel like an insane person. I wish I could just eat like a normal person. Has anyone overcome binging and succeeded with portion control? How did you do it? Do you ride out the urge? My mind is working against me in these situations.

All my life I have been obsessive over things and ‘over done’ it. With alcohol I would drink my drinks too fast, get drunk too quickly and still not want to stop. If one is good, then more is better. So I stopped drinking completely cold Turkey and never looked back. It is much easer for me to completely abstain than to balance. Of course that is not possible with eating.

Up to this point I have found ways to indulge all my neurotic food/eating habits but I feel like it’s taking a toll on my relationships and taking over my life.

If you need to define it, I would call it bingeing behavior. The irritation is probably because you feel you can't control it or prevent it from happening.

Thank you. That was really helpful. When I googled that term it came up with a lot of ‘symptoms’ and I have just about every single one! :/

Sounds like me in a lot of aspects but I have never used diet pills and I can't have caffeine, but I panic in the kitchen, especially if I'm cooking, and if people are observing me.
