Well I'm on 60mg Depixol injection every 2 weeks, was on 40mg and was stable most of the time unless I got drunk. Now I'm thinking of lowering my injection to 30mg and asking my doc for Haloperidol prn. What I'm thinking is if I can bring on a milder episode then take the Haloperidol when I'm struggling and see what happens. Maybe over time some sort of progress can be made and I'll get a psychologist too.

I've been told I'll never get better from a number of psychiatrists and I'm just sick of the same shit everyday.

Ignore me I'll stick with the meds for now, not forever but for now. I must sound like a broken record. Apologies. Hope you have a nice day :)

Hiya.

Hope you are able to get it sorted.
No harm in asking Dr what his opinion is of what you are considering.
You don't sound like a broken record. It's ok ,
It helps to write things down, that's what the forum is for.

With all good wishes to you.

Your question is best answered by a psychiatrist. No one here is a psychiatrist and anyone playing one is fraudulently giving you advise. Many of us have been on drugs or are on drugs, but that does not make us capable of giving drug type or dosage advice.

If you are going to go with medication route, the best people to ask this question is a psychiatrist and pharmacist. they are the most competent (sometimes) to discuss dosage changes and drug changes, drugs are the products they deal in.

Everyone's biology is slightly different, and one drug or dosage for one person maybe be somewhat OK for them and complete poison to another person. When you are into drugs, it is best to ask the experts (they would probably also tell you not to mix them with alcohol as well and that can be deadly too, maybe not in the short term although it certainly could be).

I suppose if you think you can run your daily life, pay the bills, look after yourself, on your own, whilst battling psychosis? I don't know how long withdrawals take, I went completely manic at the 8 week point that last time I tried it.And several years ago lasted 14 months feeling fine, then got ill again.

Inducing an episode just to take a prn antipsychotic doesn't sound particularly beneficial. You might be able to pursue a cure through other means, like talking therapy - CG Jung claimed in the early 1900's that sz could be cured that way. Or you could shift the focus of your life away from the illness and take up running, or meditation, or some form of spiritual life?
