Hi! isolation is such an emotionally impoverished place to be and often a consequence of being less adept at socialising(swallows another Prosac)something maybe we could address?

Hey there WaveyDavey :welcome:

I know that place you are talking about. It's a place where nothing grows.

Lots of friendly folk here tho' so there is no need to worry about social adeptness, just get those fingers to the keypad and keep on typing!!! :D

Hi WaveyDavey :grouphug:

:welcome:

Hopefully isolation ends here. Welcome, and hope you get a lot out of using the forum. I only joined at the beginning of the month and already feel ten times better. People here are friendly and don't judge, so as Ashami says get typing!

yodel

A warm response

Thanks for that-i'm not convinced that cyber fills the void but appreciate that exchanging posts with people who have an understanding of a differant mindset could well be a positive experience. I have been a member a of a couple of dating site forums and have been sucessfully banned from both, not for anything of a dubious nature. Simply that i am unable or just dont wish to relate to what they regard as the norm. This is potentially an elete forum if you believe as I do that in order to be become unwell the very basic requirement is an active imagination so hopefully i'm in good company

well I've not been here long but it's filled a void for me. When I arrived I was all fired up and thoroughly fed up. whether tis because of this forum or not I don't know but I do know I've met some great people here and 'feel' less isolated. I've not had a major downer yet since I arrived and it's sorta scary cos I think, 'what's wrong?'.

But if I do have a downer I know where I'll be looking for support :D

Well that sure sounds like a good thing-don't really know how this forum operates yet but was hoping that there's some scope for a local forum as it may present some social opportunities which may be helpfull to myself and others. And maybe seperate out from problems and anxieties and have something that resembles a social life-but maybe individual people have individual criteria and I guess simply having a safe forum where you can say your on a downer and people are actually able to relate to that is as good as any

Hi Wavy

speak to Dollit about local forums, I know she is the gal in the know for that. It's a very good idea pal :D

This forum is so much more than just a place to swap miseries. There are people here who pick you up when you are down, laugh with you when you're up there....friends.

There are socials being organised too. :D

What area are you from WDavey. Have you looked in the local forums to see if there is one in your area.

If you just want to chat generally there is the cafe for this:tea:

Hi Wavey Davey - pop into the local forums and see if there's one in your area. If you jump in and get socialising and talking. If not you can always start one. There is a link there. We can help with PR etc if you want. There is an expert for almost everything here.

I find this forum is a life line. I have met so many good people here and I feel lucky that I get to play a part in it.

Ok thanks guys I could'nt find a forum local to Bournemouth and Poole but that may be due to my cyber ineptitude rather than one not existing at present-so filled in the link form-I will check out the cafe and thanks for putting it in context as not simply being a place to exchange personal miseries
