Hello everyone, you all seem like a nice friendly bunch! Just thought I’d go ahead and introduce myself. Got diagnosed with BPD last week and have had severe health anxiety and depression for almost 20 years. The BPD diagnosis was a relief but it’s an exhausting, hellish journey and I wanted to reach out and meet others who are going through something similar. My husband is supportive but he doesn’t understand the whirlwind of emotions etc that borderlines go through. Looking forward to chatting with you :)

:welcome: to the forum. You will find quite a few people here who will relate to you I think. BPD is such a traumatic condition, my sympathies

Peace and greetings! Gosh I now lovey love. It's the inability to process things like the average person. You could say something to me, and although I may appear outwardly to comprehend what you've said, I truly haven't. I have to go away and process it all. Not with everything mind, but most things. Quite often somebody will say something and their lips are moving but I just cannot understand a word, it's as if they are speaking in tongues/foreign. Sometimes someone will say something that feels like a knife in the heart, and it will take sometimes days to process what was said and try to talk myself down from the tree-tops. Therapy has helped in as much as building my character and trying to work on those not so nice character flaws, but mostly it's having someone there that understands, and can help when I'm orbiting round the moon! Sorry rambling on here. Glad to meet you and happy you are here!

Thanks so much, Kabuki! It’s good to meet someone who understands :) I can definitely relate to the knife-in-the-heart feeling - sometimes I can store a personal comment away for days before getting majorly upset by it, and it takes me ages to calm down! I’ve just started schema therapy with a counsellor and it sounds very promising - nice to have someone to listen and validate my feelings and experiences, too. I’m glad that therapy has helped you, I’m hoping that it will eventually work wonders for those horrible times of crisis that I can find myself in. No worries about the rambling, as you can see, I can go on a bit myself!😅
