I don't think you keep ESA if you go on Universal Credit - but I am not an expert. Ring them up and check.

Will I have to go through another Work Capability Assessment?
The Government have said that if you are in the Support Group or the Work-Related Activity Group on ESA then this will be carried over into your Universal Credit claim and you won’t need to go through an extra Work Capability Assessment.

If its switching over because of the 365 day NI rule then you will still keep your status but just be on a UC for your allowance instead of ESA (yep its daft really all the same thing.. It switches over automatically, no waiting time-except it goes from every fortnight to every month so there will be a few weeks at switchover where your money seems to stop, it hasnt , its just not as frequent.
