It’s taken 9 months and me ranting and raving on a phone call to the MH worker, but I got there eventually! The MH worker has unfortunately just retired and there is a waiting list of over 80 people to be assigned to somebody else’s caseload, so I have lost that focused support now. She took pity on me, because I was calling frequently and there were so many Duty workers that I got someone else every time I called and there was no consistency. She felt she could make a difference before she left (although didn’t tell me she was going at the time!) so asked her Manager if she could take me. She called me for an hour every Monday, which I found mostly really helpful and grounding. I’m in the UK, Babygorilla, so it is part of the NHS. The MH service here is free, people can opt for private treatment, but it is expensive.Hi CabbageMama. I’m glad that your psychiatrist has been better about being attentive to you and taking time to explain things! Mine are over video chat now and I noticed last time it looked like he may have looked at someone else a few times which made me uncomfortable because it looks like he is working at home and I know he has a wife and a child that’s either a teen or a young adult. What does your MH worker do and how did you get one? If he does the same thing next time I will say something. I’m not really sure who I would talk to about it.
