Tried but failed, meds’ it is!

Dec 10, 2018
Since August I’ve been battling to over come my Health (heart attack) anxiety without the use of medication, but today’s the day I’m going to resign myself to defeat and try the meds my GP is suggesting. I’ve tried reading, meditation, breathing exercises, herbal remedies, the list goes on......
Over the last week I’ve gotten worse and it’s getting to the point now where it feels I’ve lost control.
I’m feeling anxious every waking moment with 2 or 3 spikes of full on pain and panic during the day. I don’t know how I’ve managed to stay away from A&E over the last 2 days, I’m more or less back to square one thinking I’ve got a heart problem and every twinge, niggle, pain or feeling is the start of a heart attack. And yes, I’ve had all the blood tests, ecg’s, x-rays and the rest to say I haven’t got a problem but like I say it’s like I’ve lost control over any rational thinking again. The weird anxious tight feeling in my chest is almost constant now and it’s getting too much to deal with as well as everyday life and work.
I’ve been prescribed Sertraline 50mg so I’m going to give them a go. 🤞and wish me luck! I’m praying these work quickly and get me back to feeling something like normal again.
Obviously I’m aware taking these meds is nothing new and a lot of you guys have been through this exact same thing so any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍

Hi, Ste! Good luck with the Sertraline! I like it a lot. Be patient and strong if you feel side affects while getting in it; I had every side effect in the book for 4-5 days. Then, they went away, and I felt good. Keep us posted!
