Total recovery on cognitive self-help book and epeleptic/mood stabilator drug.

Hi everyone!:)

I suffer from a basic paranoid psycotic illness as well as bipolar 1. In other words severe mental illness combined with the most severe form of manic-depression. Theese illnesses can never be cured as such - I will be dependent of medication the rest of my life.

A biology professional came up with the idea of giving me "orfiril retard". This drug is known as an epeleptic drug, still it is both an anti-psychotic and a great mood stabilator.

In combination with a book on cognitive therapy ("Chief of your own life") I became so functioning as to the point that I officialy became recognised by Norwegian hospital as an "Experiance-Consultant on mental health" in Norway - and respected as a mental healthworker myself.

I was offered a job with the specialist health unit, but dicided to spend my time relaxing with the MHF - were I try to help as well as keeping my humbleness in view of the fact that I have been there and struggeled with all kinds of issues myself.

I struggled myself for 20 years - today I am well, but offcause I have bad days like all people. In any case I hope my story can give hope to others. It is possible to be well from the most severe situation, and people with mental illnesses are just as bright as anyone.

Thanks to MHF for a fantastic concept!
