Recently I have been having a number of interesting experiences where I have been resolving voices - they ultimately dissolve back into me. The starting point for this is usually connecting to one's loving forgiveness, feeling this within yourself and then reaching out and asking a voice to come one at a time, and asking them for their story, and then listening deeply. This has helped on several occasions to draw out the deeper stories of voices - some were betrayed, others jealous. If at first it doesn't work, ask them to 'begin at the beginning.' Usually on completing the story, and giving up the root cause, they will dissolve back into you. It's best to start this when they first begin to manifest during a day, when you are freshest and they are not fully formed.

If there are two or more they will disturb eachother, so it's important to only do this when there is just one voice. Focussing on being emotive, rather than rational, and connecting to warmth and love are key.

Another technique I have had some success with recently is combining passionate love with awareness. If you can do that you can clear out a lot of bad influences and create more clarity for yourself.

Hi deling, I'm going through some cognitive therapy at the moment that seeks to look into the subconscious values that may be driving the voices I hear. I believe it is helping me but may take a while.
From my experiences, each voice has its own emotional root. Some of them appear very simple in that they don't say much, but eventually lead to a small but quite resistant core, which require more intense emotion to release it. Others are plain and easy going and give up their stories easily.

Not all of these are to do with your life experience. Some voices are, for want of a better series of concepts, entities that wander into your spiritual space and become attached through some negative experience. One of my voices said, "you caused us to become jealous of you", at the end of telling it's story, and then it dissolved.

It's possible to build up a very polluted inner space where you have a lot of backlog, and get maybe a dozen or more voices that you have to deal with in turn, and connecting to the right emotional space to cope with asking for the stories can require you to shift your focus of energy down from your head.

Generally speaking, I enjoy the voices. Mainly for the inner exploration and how that reflects and projects into what we call the real world. As science begins to embrace consciousness theory and as they are able to formulate methods of measuring and quantifying consciousness I think they'll find that the inner-verse is as vast as the universe. Then, of course there's the notion that were are all interconnected by collective-consciousness. Its mind boggling. But for now I need to keep my feet on the ground haha and explore the local space.

I still don't know exactly what they are, or where they come from

BUT, they can lead you a merry dance, like a bull with a ring thru its nose

Oh well, back to working on distraction then ;)

What has really helped me is knowing it is so common hearing voices when i was talking to the board - ouija i asked why cant my husband hear these and they said he does bangs rustles but he just ignores them - back in the 80s i was on a bus with a person who was in charge of one of those place and he called it a sickness of the mind as opposed to the body well im glad ive come out of the wardrobe now when it is so openly agreed its not just a sickness - i like to think of it as my soul is finding its feet

This was really helpful. If you don't mind me asking, when did you start hearing voices?

That is true, there are a lot of voice hearers out there and a lot of them aren’t psychiatric patients. There was a famous radio interview back in the 1970’s between Dr Marius Romme, a Dutch psychiatrist and a journalist where they asked people who heard voices to phone in and to their surprise they got all kinds of people from housewives who occasionally heard their parents’ voices repeating a phrase to the actually psychotic.

That was the start of the Hearing Voices movement, and it turns out psychiatric patients are outnumbered about 4 to 1 by people who hear occasional, non-problematic voices. So if you hear voices you are far from alone in this, and it may do you good to look up a Hearing Voices group in your neighbourhood.

sorry guys, maybe i'm going to add my 2 cents.
yes, listening to music does help a lot. but sadly the sound of people talking bad about me on public transport is so loud. like saying that i should die or that they want to kill me or chuck me into a rubbish dump.
but its better than no music.
when there is no music, it does really make u feel like punching the person.
but i tell myself that i cannot give them the satisfaction of doing what they think i should do.

when the radio is turned on, and its in an incomprehensible language, sometimes, i feel like it comes from my stomach. i'm like, "how can it come from my stomach?"
it makes me feel better. like i'm in control, and i'm retaining my logical faculty.

sometimes, i would think that my mum or dad is calling me, but they are not.
sorry, my voices thing is less severe.
so i guess it seems different and what i said may not be helpful.
Hi M, I am amazed at the length and breadth of detail you have shown here!, the fact that you have outlined in infinite details, using technological explanations for things you are supposed to be hallucinating is very telling, have you ( like me question the whole thing). Bear in mind I not trying to be clever either! I thank you for your insightful testimony, I think in time the scene will tell a different story! always know you a strong person!

Sometimes medicine can really change a person or their perspective, so you might keep a diary and write down how you feel as it gets in your system. It will give you something to show the doctor if it doesn't work, but if it does, it can be exciting to see the progress. Good luck!
Hi, All meds will have effects upon the person this is always a given fact! same as drink and drugs, have you tried to just kid up the doctor and wean your self off slowly and wait to see if you feel any better, though, please don't not inform your doctor or service provider as this may cause you undue problems !!. If they think you're doing fine they tend to leave you alone, So you can get on will living your life.

Recovering together

This is my favourite thread so far by a long way, it's the best and only advice to give. Stay true to it! You will be blessed.
It's true that voices have their own intuition as well if only we would spend a little quality time with a few of them we'd see it ourselves. They are able to recover themselves after the crisis, and need our help to do so.
We now have over eight hundred languages to communicate in, some sound Nordic, some Latin some Celtic, other are just very very funny to hear, (my favourites), other might for example make it impossible to lie or hide malice, but we're learning to communicate in languages which are moreconsiceand also a lot quicker. English is now only reserved for humour and jokes In our world, or it is not allowed. We all just find it too clumsy.
Have you ever heard Welsh, the voices would make you laugh trust me!

I had the worst panic attack ever and the voices in my head started in a way like they never have before. I could literally hear their voices echoing around in my head like an auditorium or gymnasium. I wa a panicking so much and the voices were so weird and bad, and I felt like I was in a different reality or something. It was absolutely horrible. I also have the voices that sing songs over and over in my head until they drive me crazy....err....crazier? Ugh, It's sad but I understand what y'all are going through I haven't mastered Co trolling them at all yet. I will have to try some of the above techniques for sure! Thanks for taking the time to give your ideas!

Iva Marie
Hi Iva, I really know the trouble you are going through, they are literally like trolls for sure! I called mine Smurfs, there is some information out there that can aid you though it may come as a shock to the system if you are in a better position in the future please ask and I will inform you, some simple things you can do are to ask your doctor for a mild antipsychotic, just for the meantime. Or try put a little bit of water in the middle ear using a cotton wool bud, try playing music with headphones, humming to yourself helps, as you will block out subvocalization, singing will do the same as well, Also talk with a trusted friend or partner this is the best way even if it's tough. Hope the harassment tapers off soon.

What helps me is confiding in friends about it. I am lucky that they don't think I am crazy, and that they haven't ended our friendship.
