i haven't heard the recovery model mentioned for a while, is it another fad thats out of fashion now

they used to say all sorts of people were in recovery

i've had issues with the on drug recovery, comparing to diabetes blah blah blah

it took 2 yrs of appeals to get dla i asked the gp how ill i was he said i can't tell you that, i said i'd like a straight answer he said your ill enough to need the meds but not ill enough to go into hospital

the psychiatrist said your fairly well considering your problems

i went to the job centre i thought as they kept turning me down maybe they expect me to work, some guy said he thought i was unfit for work

the latest gp i've got when i asked her how ill i was she said she didn't know when i asked what would happen if i came off drugs she said we don't know

n yeah, I had a quick look at it , and it makes some good points
about the patient directing their treatment
but the faddy thing is to assume that people can recover

more usually its about learning better ways to live with it as it is
rather than curing it , which is usually impossible
with deep conditions

people cant see mental illness
and dont understand the depth of the incapacity

there were a no pushing the recovery model here in the past, there were a no of nhs trustees who'd take work home with them don't know whats happened to them, think they've lost they're jobs with the further cuts

it was nasty pushing people could get better, the idea that anyone can get better and work does no favours to those on benefits who can't work, it justifies cutting benefits as work is an option
