I have to admit that pretty much what is going on here too - the TV is on as background noise and I half watch it.

I'm glad someone else does this, although I'm not pleased that you feel fragile - of course. I drive my OH batty when I insist on leaving the curtains closed and he will just open them the minute he comes home. I even leave the bedroom curtains shut sometimes and don't feel right if they are open even if I am downstairs. He is beginning to understand some of my MH issues but the curtains one he thinks that it is a throw-back to one of my evil exes and he's told me they will not come and get me as they don't know where I am. He doesn't really that it could be "anyone" coming to get me (or so my mind thinks at the time)I don't blame you. When I'm feeling a little fragile I close all the curtains as I get paranoid about people looking in. (Even though I'm on the 3rd floor of a tower block and people can't see me unless I'm standing at the window, or within a meter of it.) But still, I like my privacy. Feeling safe at home is paramount!
