I keep noticing when I'm relaxing that I have tension in my body, especially in the shoulders. Thoughts tell me I should be doing something, that I have too much to do. I don't know is this anxiety or stress and what to do about it? I feel like I can't relax fully.

Any advice appreciated.

I have muscle tension in my neck, shoulders, lower back and legs. A warm water bath/shower eases the pain. I also found that a deep sleep duvet and pillow helps. The tension is still there every now and then but not as severe now. It can be subdued. I also drink cherry juice which helps with muscle inflammation.

A massage with aromateraphy oil like lavender before sleep might help! That works for me

First of all, you have to find out the reason if that tension and pain. You can consult with a doctor because it's better that start taking pills or doing something else. But there is one thing I want to recommend to me, which helped me to overcome the anxiety. The therapy is called a weighted blanket therapy. You can read more about it here. It's the article dedicated to it, where you can find all the advantages of this therapy and how the usage of a weighted blanket can help you with your condition.

I mentioned it to the doctor a few times. He has no idea of the reason.

Never heard of weighted blankets. Just looked it up and it sounds good. Thanks for the suggestion.

Have you tried massage chairs (ie the ones with rotating metal balls)? I find they are quite good. I got one for £10 form a car boot sale.

That's a great idea, thanks! I'll watch out for a cheap one.
