Talking very fast is a sign of bi polar? Is this chart accurate?

I think the chart is accurate if someone has almost all of the symptoms of mania at times and almost all the symptoms of depression at other times. Occasionally the mania and depression happen close together when someone is experiencing 'mixed states.' It's possible that someone might talk quickly when experiencing a manic or hypomanic episode. Psychiatrists diagnose bipolar illness.

I think, we need to be careful here.
As everybody has individual 'issues'
With various different external factors.

In general 'stress' and 'fear' are triggers :
With long term, 'phases' of this rubbish.
Month, by month : day to day : hour to hour.

A lot can happen in a day.

A zen master may tell you to do some meditation
A psychatrist will give you a pill. (largely)

The way forward is somewhere inbetween.
I'm not a bif fan, of fancy graphics, as they
Are in essence pieces of art : via graphics

So they have an element of 'acceptance' on a loose hinge. (for me).
As it's not gospel : The fact that we're social creatures
Has been highlighted via COVID
We all have emotions : usually Quacks, like us as tranquil as possible.

That is the mode : I use in all my dealings.

Some quacks and better than others.....

This is simplistic. Rapid thoughts or flight of ideas with pressured speech occur in bipolar disorder sometimes (they got me diagnosed and treated), but they can be signs of other problems, too. Bipolar can be hard to distinguish from other disorders or even temporary emotional states.

The illness can also present in subtle ways this chart neglects and is often misdiagnosed for a long time, as mine was.

If you are experiencing racing thoughts, rapid speech, or other things on this chart, it's certainly worth discussing with your doctor or a psychiatrist.

By saying "This is simplistic" are you insinuating that the previous comments in the thread are stupid? Consider that the dictionary definition of 'simplistic' is: "Treating complex issues and problems as if they were much simpler than they really are."

Yes its accurate. Talk fast is due mania, its the "extreme joy" period, the brain is working fast, a person feels very active, thats why even the speech is fast.

I don't have an answer, to why I disagree with the above check list.
Probably because it is a check list.
I think my argument is an old one.
One that questions the psychiatric process & the emotive human.

Could imagine, a type of treatment, that had little reliance on drugs
But more emphasis on your body and mind : via ::::: some third world ideas (recovery rate is better there)

I know, I'm stoking the fire.
But sometimes, our so called
'Illness' has some great aspects to it (as well)

My complaint, involves first contact / & services proceeding.

Love this, dreambuggielll,
I think you may be saying somtimes we can overthink about so-called classic symptoms, more or less convincing ourselves we have a certain condition.
Some may be normal, everyday emotions.Sometimes a physician is just putting in the time. Psychiatrists are likely to throw some pill at you. As you say, some are better than others.sometines, I think, over reliance on nedication as a cure all prevents a person from working through their emotions.
We are not machines who automatically and conveniently fit all criteria. Many conditions have a spectrum.
