I've always done this, its always felt normal,
I've always had an answer, and can hold full
Conversions, with my inner voice.
My partner says this isn't normal.

Am I not normal?
Would I be locked up if I told my doctor?
Doesn't everybody do this?

do you talk outside of your head to yourself?
everyone talks to themselves inside their head.

I think it is normal, I do it too sometime, I think it is just a habit like Firewolf says, you can probably train yourself out of it, if it is a problem.

No.
I've never seen it as a problem, that's the point!
My inner voice has taught me things, and told me
Many things which I have never read in any books,
Or anywhere else.
She has also saved me from being killed in many situations
That I know I shouldn't be here writing this now.
So, why would I want to stop her from talking to me?
If I told a doctor this,
Would they see me as 'not normal'?

that sounds a bit different to what I thought you meant before.
So is it like someone else talking to you inside your head? Or you talking to yourself? I might not be making what I mean very clear.

Mr. Claypole,:welcome:
There are a lot of people who hear voices and talk to themselves, I am one of them, if you are happy in yourself and it doesn't distress you .....then that is ok, it is how you feel which is most important:)

I crack jokes at myself, like full on intricate routines.
I get disheartened when I don't get a laugh.
I just want me to think I'm funny... :BLAH:

I think you're overthinking this and that it is a normal thing for some people.
I do say all kinds of things out loud to myself, though I haven't got to having full on conversations yet. For me, I usually do it when i'm doing something practical and am trying to work things out.
For instance "Oh.. how's that going to fit? Umm.. ah yes, i'll just move that".

Personally, I think this kind of out-loud chit chat is just helping your brain to problem solve and process things. :)

I always get a reply, I don't actually talk myself,
I talk to my guardian angels, who talk back to me,
Which is what most of the population wouldn't understand,
And I imagine all the medical profession wouldn't see it as normal,
But,
What is normal?

The medical profession possibly wouldn't see it as "normal".... depending on how you phrased it and what you said about the voices.
Personally, I wouldn't tell them! Why be judged negatively or be given a medical label, for something that helps you, grounds you and protects you.

If the voices change and begin to disturb, misguide or upset you or become unmanageable, that is perhaps a different scenario.

For now, I would view them as "psychic" guidance....and be grateful for anything that helps you to find a positive way through life.
