I love having friends from all over!

But my mother-in-law floods FB with Trump & etc memes and religious memes and there are a few other individuals as well.

So I am happy to say I have managed to block the sites those posts originate from. And it has worked!

Now there are still a few people who place argumentative comments on my posts and so far, it has been unfriend one person a day.

And I am posting my own political beliefs. they don't like it, they can block me or unfriend me too.

But it is a helluva lot less stress than seeing those asinine posts which make me mad or upset.

Wish I had done this a long time ago.

Everyone is entitled to free speech, but not an audience.

Good for you tiltawhirl!

I actually closed my facebook account, cos not one person I met on there was a good person,
so many bullies on there too and the site moderation is appalling, they allow sexism, racism and political back stabbers on too.And what is it with people having to friend hundreds of people they don't know, never met or ever talk to, stupid if you ask me!I was verbally attacked on the comments sections and I decided to quit cos it had upset me so much, I mean you are talking to complete strangers there really.Best thing was to close my account,I've not regretted it.But doing what you did is good way to go with it too.

Glad you've managed to get rid of the sites that were a problem tiltawhirl.
Hope that improves things for you.

Like Nikita I got rid of my fb account I felt better after I did too.

Glad you have sorted it so it's a lot less stress for you :)

I opted for unfollowing everyone. This didn't used to be available so I deleted people.

I play FB games so have a huge friends list...and very much enjoy the people from all over the world.

It's also an important connection with family.

Our political situation here is very volatile and I am passionate about my beliefs.

I just decided to change my tactic and am very satisfied with it.

funny you should post this, I delted mine yesterday

too much rubbish on there, too hard to find what I actually WANT, too many douches posting How To Life Your Life Advice when I personally know they drive their own shit into the ditch over and over again and Learn NOTHING.

Yep. life is a whole lot quieter.
