Hey guys I'm Rebecca but everybody calls me BEX. I joined in hope of getting some advice and support as I'm now caring for my Big Sister who suffers from Scizophrenia and Manic Depression also. My Mum used to be my Sisters Carer until recently but sadly my Mother Died quite suddenly from that awful Disease Cancer and being honest I've become rather weary and scared about caring for my lovely Sister everything has happened so fast between losing my Mum and taking over the legal guardian and support system for my Sister I've put my own grief and emotions aside for the time being as my big sister needs me more I just really need to vent my thoughts out and I'm not much of a talker at the best of times so when I came across this site I thought what the hell lets go for it x

Hi Rebecca,

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you're feeling that way, and I'd like to express my condolences regarding the passing of your mother. It must be hard to take in all the changes that have happened recently, and taking on such responsibility may override any time for emotional release. If you need someone to talk to over the phone to vent, Samaritans are available, and several of my friends have used it and have found it to be great. If you'd prefer professional support, I'd suggest counselling as a talking therapy to help you navigate these tough times. Or, if you'd like to vent by typing, feel free to PM me to vent or discuss anything, and I'd be happy to listen to you. You're not alone, for we're all here to support you. Hope you feel better soon, and I hope that your sister gets better in timex

Much love <3

Its great that your sister has you to care for her. I have SZ and manic depression also. It can be difficult living with this illness without the proper support. Kudos to you for stepping up to the plate. You will need some sort of support yourself as dealing with MH issues are very draining.
