my neighbor tried to kill himself yesterday. I knew he was upset about his girlfriend leaving, so I went to check on him, he opened the door drunk and said " your just in time to watch me die" he had a hand full of pills I wrestled them away from him he broke down more .
I called 911 and they took him to the hospital. I know I did the right thing. So why to I feel so guilty?
I saved someones life. But at the same time it hits close to home and gives me flashbacks from when I was this way. I'm shaken by this whole thing.

You did the right thing. I know he might not thank you for it but you saved his life and you could not have walked away after knowing what he had done.

Yeah you would have felt a million times worse if you hadn’t. I’m sure your feelings about it are more about remembering. Look how far you’ve come though! You helped yourself and someone else. That’s awesome. He might not be able to look at it that way right now if he’s embarrassed or frustrated that you stopped him but some day he will be really grateful Im sure.

I talked on the phone he sounds better but the bad thing is his girlfriend is leading him on he's thinking she's going to be there when he gets back she has no intentions of coming back
