Excuse the ~basic~ formatting, I’m new to this community. Happy to be here! Anyway, as the title suggests, I’m currently struggling with anorexia that quickly turned into orthorexia (paired with major health anxiety).

My main issue is the fact I’ll restrict food with—what I deem “too much” sodium. I’m in my early 20’s and my latest bloodwork showed nothing to worry about. However, I still can’t just shake the feeling that one meal (or snack) will negatively impact my body as a whole. For example, I worry about my kidney’s being affected (with kidney stones) or my gallbladder also being affected by having one or two fast food meals. Any advice would be lovely as I continue to choose recovery. Thanks!

:welcome:
Please try to eat a healthy diet to keep yourself well. I'm sorry i don't know very much about eating problems other than that i have just eaten a whole packet of jaffa cakes ;) but our body is very good at keeping us well as long as we eat a balanced diet.

You should read the book Anti Diet, it's got some awesome information about this sort of thing!

Hi there! Totally know what you mean. I developed anorexia when I was 16, and thought I was able to stop myself, I never had a good treatment or recovery process. Partly because I never talked to anyone or sought professional help, until a few months ago- and I'm already 24. So much time has passed and I still struggle with those disordered eating habits. I love carbs- and I know I'm currently overweight- so I fear carbs and restrict myself. But then, I end up eating a ton of carbs, only to feel full of guilt and shame right after. It's a horrible cycle I can't seem to break. I hope we can help each other and support each other on our journey towards recovery and healing!
