Hi, I'm new here so not sure if I'm posting this on the right place!
I have bi polar and I have been on medication for 7 years. I'm very lucky as my meds do seem to work and I'm pretty stable.

Or so I thought.

I have had a few strange experiences where I see someone I know, maybe crossing the road or walking towards me then I look again and they aren't there!

Once was strange but it keeps happening, anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks
Larissa

Hi, a big proportion of mentally healthy people have this, the brain tries to recognise everyone we see. It could be the bipolar, but don't panic. Maybe mention it to your dr x

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated

I don't see someone and then I think it's someone I know

I see a friend or relative very clearly but there is no one there at all x

These things happen and it's disconcerting. Tell your psychiatrist and he may need to make a medication adjustment if you are hallucinating. You will be OK....I have had a similar experience. I take Geodon and it makes it go away, I sleep well, and no weight gain. I can't give medical advice but I wanted to share my experience with you.

I have bipolar 1 with occasional psychotic features. I'm often in a mixed episode and under a ton of stress when these types of things happen.

You sound calm, which is great. I do think you should call your psychiatrist to get into see him/her soon. Things will be OK. They may just be a bit "off" right now...it's sort of like our brains playing tricks on us.

Feel free to PM me if you need to reach out.
