Has anyone ever had somebody speak directly to their voices?

Hi there, I would like to understand your question better.
Do you mean talking to your voices by asking you questions and you telling them what the voices are saying?

My mother tried asking them questions. But she was too abrupt and they did not answer. Generally I talk with them myself.

Yes. I went to a Ron Coleman conference at York university entitled "Speaking with voices". Was very interesting.

I saw a video with Rufus May talking about it. It can be really helpful, but as in all things, this is highly individual.

It was interesting but i don't feel the need to really engage out loud with my voices and it doesn't help a lot. I tend to find it easier to just find better ways of living with them without using neuroleptics. I think voice dialogue is a very valuable tool though and the HVN and all associated with it are doing a great job in getting people to explore the roots of their voices and understand themselves better without feeling ashamed.
