So i have been suffering from these skipped heartbeats for years now, i am 21 and it started when i was about 18. Some times it feels like a little skip and other times it is a row of them that lasts about 5 minutes. And other times its one really strong one that kind of knocks me for a bit. Is this anxiety related?

Hello friend,
Has your doctor sent you for a chest x-ray or a electrocardiogram (ECG)? they found with me that when I'm under stress or feeling anxious then my heart does skip and then I get chest pain as my heart tries to catch up, this can also cause dizziness and shortness of breath which does take a few minutes to recover. So yes this may be anxiety related as anxiety can do some strange things to the body but your doctor is the one who I would trust to tell you if it is caused by anxiety.

Namaste

I have had an ECG done and they said everything was normal. And stress causes it. But I get them when I am just sitting doing nothing, also why are some much stronger than others

I get them too. Like flutters sometimes as well. I think it's normal to some extent.
The doc asks about caffeine and alcohol, both can cause it.

I don't drink and I don't drink anything with caffeine in it anyway

Me neither most of the time. I have noticed alcohol triggers palpitations with me though on the rare times do have half a pint. I think the doc means sudden heavy drinking though, called holiday heart syndrome, rather than half a cider. But I'm weird like that :)

Hope you get some answers x

I see, it's so frustrating.

I don't get how some are still stronger than others! Like how one I will barely feel then one is like so strong it takes my breathe away
