well she is 90 x
long story short she has a very unkempt flat and a good sum of money
my worries are
obviously it will affect my benefits
and i will need to meet with an estate agent /get the flat cleared out/and would have to pay the service charge until the flat was sold
it needs rewiring and modernising and as soon as i inherit her money my benefits will stop but i will have to pay all of the above

im thinking i can't cope with this i know nobody does-bit i DON'T DO STRESS
a psych appointment or repair in my flat is enough to send me into a frazzle

so should i get her to leave it to someone else? xx

Has she made a will?
Has she any other relatives, nephews nieces for example?
Does she have a solicitor?

she has made a will leaving everything to me ,she has a solicitor ,
she has relatives but none close
she is reluctant to leave money to my sister because she can be manic and once spent £6000 in a month-she actually stole that from me-it was mummys funeral plan money so i had to pay for mummys funeral seperately from what mummy left me x

Righto Lu,
Well, my guess is that she will have talked about " arrangements" for her funeral ( looking at your other thread) and what happens with the flat and money with the solicitor.
So my short answer is that the solicitor will handle things in the main in consultation with yourself. If she is worried about your sister then she will have talked to the solicitor about it.:)

When mum died last year my brother was going to pay for her funeral and would get the money back from what was in the inheritance. But the funeral parlour told us that he didn’t need to pay it as although her bank account had been frozen they do allow a payment out for a funeral bill. So as long as she has a bank account you shouldn’t need to worry about the funeral. But if you have other expenses please keep all the receipts then they can be added to your part of the inheritance if it is to be shared out
