I cant advise on that one, i cannot keep friends. I just dont have the personality/motivation to sustain friends in the real world. I find people too much hard work, too demanding or they are not interested in me (only out for themselves) thats just the people i attract.
Hopefully your therapist will help you work through that and give you some practical advice!
Thank you that is a shame you cannot sustain freinds I find I can to some extend but they drift off once it gets rough with my mental illness

I think making friends is more important
than going to work
if you have mental health issues

you might find work if you have the right friends
