I'm really struggling to cope with my emotions and as a consequence I'm exhibiting self destructive behaviour. How do I even begin to get out of this negative cycle?

Sorry to hear that you feel that way. Know that you aren't alone - there is help and support on hand for you. I would start by seeing your GP and discussing what's going on - they are able to deal with/relay the issue, so let them know what's going on and they'll help. You could also call Mind to get advice about your particular situation. Samaritans would also be a good point of contact in case you need to have a confidential call about how you feel or any thoughts or discussions. And of course, we're here to support youx

Thank you. I don't have a GP right now as my last one left so I'm having to find another who can cope with my complex physical health as well as mental health. I'm struggling physically speak right now which doesn't help. Forever internalising everything!!

No GP will say I can’t help its not in the best interest to judge you no matter how complex your issues are in life. Your notes will be sent over to the new practise so don’t worry.

What I found help me:

Write down what I am upset about

Beating my pillow up or holding my head in it face down and going shouting in it. Take away the frustration and hurt out

Do something than sit around something that makes you happy

If a thought comes in which is negative laugh at it say it’s a stupid thought and continue I found this works great

Self destructive yes I know we have all been in that mode and its very unpleasant rest assure we have
