Hi.
I just wondered how many posters on here with a diagnosis of psychosis or schizophrenia have been discharged to their GP? Or are you all under the CMHT?
I was discharged to my GP from the local Early Intervention in Psychosis service against my wishes (I wanted to go to the CMHT). This was some years ago, but I was re-thinking about it. I recently tried to get referred to my CMHT, and did speak to the CPN, but they would not have me, because I described myself as very well!
I take Aripiprazole 15mg/day for my psychosis and it keeps it well under control.
In 2020 Britain they will not keep me under the CMHT despite my having autism and psychosis. In the NICE guidelines for treating psychosis and schizophrenia it says that it should be a patient choice to be discharged to the GP, but this is not my experience.
Thankfully my GP where I now live is really good. But where I used to live the GP was not good, and it made more of a difference not being under the CMHT.
