Today, I feel aghast, forlorn -
The inner mechanism is off kilter -
For my judgement has forsaken me.
I make judgements in social situations
That are way off mark and inappropriate.
What is real, what is true reality
escapes me and is beyond me.
But the way ahead is patience -
And patient endurance -
Not all dark clouds remain
in the same place,
Nor are dark nights and fogs forever -
I will take this blow,
In addition, with good character,
Showing love, goodness and kindness -
In the most simple manner -
Then I know, that being of good character
Is to be sound, truthful and sane -
And I have now taken the best route
to my restoration.
Good character is fool-proof
Whatever the situation
You find yourself in at any time of life,
Schizophrenia no less.
It is one great answer to the dilemma.
And when you are of good character,
Despite schizophrenia,
Have you not excelled?
Great excellence beckons the person
With schizophrenia!
