I always have the same pattern when I have an episode. It starts with a week or two of mania, feeling great and high energy, talking to God and generally behaving very erratically. But then the scary part starts..

I get a psychosis for a couple of days which is completely terrifying. I can't even describe to people how bad it is, it feels like a constant fear of death or worse.

It involves a fear like the universe is ending, like I made a mistake somewhere, like everyone is going to hell and can't be rescued.

Has anyone had similar? Most people I know just get regular delusions, religious experiences, but don't have extreme fear like I get. (Thankfully I've not had an episode for about 18 months).

Hiya. No my mania usually takes me to high euphoria then tips into rages and anger then into doing crazy things. My depressions usually hit straight after and knock me sideways. I don't get the extreme fear in the mania phase, but do in the depression phase. I fear that I am going to harm everyone on the planet by existing etc.

Full on.. your symptoms sound as bad as mine. Not sure which one I'd choose. The fear is the part I can't handle though. It's really debilitating and terrifying.
