Risperidone makes me feel numb, I don't feel strongly about anything I'm very passive on this drug. I'm losing interest in the things I love like christianity and football.

What is your experience of risperidone?

It's a very strong med and it's great if you need to take the edge of anger. However there are side effects. If you are a girl it can make your breasts leak milk and it also takes away any sex life... If it's used long term. But like I said it's a great anti phychotic and chill pill.

I'm on Risperidone. My sex drive has plummeted and I've put on 1 stone in three months, but the paranoia and voices have gone, I'm sleeping at night and im getting things done in the house. It's working, so regardless of the side effects I'm happy with it.

That said, the first two months on the drug was total hell. I had restless leg syndrome and I still felt doped up at lunchtime, but i was so desperate I persevered with it. Really glad now because I'm feeling more like my old self again.

I've been on rispiradone its not very nice is it. But it does stabilise you if you were any where near as chaotic as I was at the time
I used to still drink at the time yes I remember it made me feel very FLAT.
Seroquel is a little better I find. Very similar but better as your doc.

I hated rispiridone, saying that i hate most the anti-psychotics exept abilfy(aripiprazole) which im taking now... there is no sexual side effect with abilfy, usually no weight gain, usualy no prolactin bother( so no breast enlargment / leaking) and definatly no sedation! the stuff wakes people up, its a bit of a bugger for insomnia though but helps loads with motivation and interests.

Im sounding like im trying to sell the stuff though lol.

peace

I hated risperidone. It made me manic. I did get a lot of shit done on it though. I wasn't on it very long before I started taking invegga sustenna though. I hated invegga too. It wasn't nearly strong enough. A once a month depot only lasted a week then I had the rest of the month to contend with without it.

It was a long time ago, some fifteen years, I had it alongside Procyclidine and something else I can't remember the name of, everything combined made me drowsy, lifeless and a part-time zombie.

Risperdal didn't work for me. I hit maximum dose and I was still paranoid as shit. The doctor switched me to Seroquel and that works sooooo much better.
