I’ve been on it for a bit over 11 weeks (6 mg). I’m hearing things at times (I listen to music to drown it out) and feeling pretty bad. This also happened on the Clozapine. I’m starting to think it’s not the meds. I’ve been reading about how not all things are biological. Any thoughts? Thank you.

It's a real shame it's not managing your symptoms. I was so tired and hungry on 6mg, felt shattered all the time. I don't have voices so can't share my experiences but hopefully some other posters will be able to contribute.

Has it helped your thinking at all? Are you less worried or paranoid? It might be too early to notice any positive change.

The lithium I’m on has helped the most. How long should I wait? And thank you!

Have you noticed a drop in the volume of your voice? That was the first thing I noticed.

That to me said it is biological and that these electrical signals that my brain is interpreting as a separate entity rely on Dopamine to transmit at any decent strength.

I have not.... My voice is too high sometimes, partly due to nervousness. I think a lot of my symptoms are not helped by meds. I live with my mom and have lost touch with a lot of people since I was in the hospital a lot. I’m lonely a lot and feel upset/regressed. I need real change in my life.

If you're not happy your psychiatrist should be able to advise, I really hope you find an antipsychotic that works for you!

If this med isn't working for you then ask for another. I had to try three before I found Aripiprazole suited me best. Not everyone has the same reaction to each med. Make a nuisance of yourself with your doc and ask for a change if its not helping.

I'm sure you can achieve all of your goals! Lots of people on here manage some or all of them. I really hope things go your way!

I did find respiradone a huge help at the time I was on 4mg 3 times a day it was needed and allowed me to function as well as I could I did get off it as an inpatient and coped
I only needed it for so long fortunately but being unwell I would be happy to take anything they offer
But any negative results I refuse to carry on with that particular drug
As there's loads out there
