Experiences of restraint: How art and involvement have inspired change | Mind, the mental health charity - help for mental health problems

Are you concerned about the use of restraint in your area? We can help you campaign for change in your area.

Mental health service providers’ reporting is improving, and we now know that the use of restraint is much higher than our campaign found in 2013.

Our new guides - Restraint in mental health services: What the guidance says and Restraint in mental health services: Influencing change in your area - have been written with the National Survivor User Network. These summarise how organisations should be working to reduce restraint and how you can get involved in influencing care in your area.

Although there is some great work going on around the country to reduce restraint and end reliance on force, we need to see this everywhere. You can campaign for change in your area with the help of this campaigner guide.
