I'm finding my depot injection annoying and painful, the site is still hurting after 3 days and I'm sick off it. I'm going to refuse my next injection and continue refusing. I know a week after the first refusal the police will pick me up. I'm will willingly go with them to the hospital and have the injection. Then the month after I will do the same and refuse. I'm not going to be confrontational. Would the police tell the doctors they think it's unreasonable that they have to take me to the hospital when I'm non- confrontational and tell the doctors they are not willing to do it. Do you think if I consistently refuse they will look into giving me oral meds again?

You want to protest. Have you tried talking with your p-doc and explaining your situation. At least if you let them know it will sow the seed, and eventually they will see it your way.

I tried talking to my psychiatrist and he won't budge, he said if I show that I'm well he will think about taking me off my CTO in 2 years...

I could move abroad and they would have no jurisdiction and can't force me to take antipsychotics. i have no restrictions on travelling in my CTO. I could go for 3/4 months somewhere like Greece and maintain my mental health and when I come back I've proved that I can keep well.

Why do you want to refuse it? I think if it's helping you then you should take it. I was on it too but have stopped having it. I asked my Pdoc if it was okay to stop it and he agreed it was ok.

I was going to suggest that youi write a strong stipulative letter to your community mental health team, and that would then go into your notes, so that way, they would have youir letter in front of them, and youi could have also then said, it's all in the history of the notes, and as he's said, you've been kept well, by doing a strong stipulative letter, and confirming within the letter, that you find the depot painful at times, and the reaction is bad, in turn, that with the complaint in writing, should then get your p doc to get round to their senses, and that youi prefer to have oral medications.

I've realised, reading this thread, that you've tried it with your p doc, and that they won't budge. This needs a stronger complaint procedure and in writing done.

I once asked my GP for about depot injections, and he commented, that whilst and as long as i am volunteering in the community, he'll prefer - the GP service this is, to stick with what he prefers, via, me taking oral medication for my mental health conditions, so I am thankful, I take oral medication, plus I can't swallow pills, anyhow.

I wish you well. Hope you finally in due course, get the results you wish.

I think you might have a point in terms of the European, Police, they might have more relaxent regulations, and as you suggest, and therefore allow you to take oral medication. Just a rhetorical if it is the right word, in this conext, thought.

Hi,
I too have to have monthly injections, they are very painful. I want to go onto oral meds.
If you keep refusing your depot they will likely section you again. Just keep asking for oral meds that is what I'm going to do.
Take care
