Depends who or what is causing me to question my memory. If it's certain relatives then yes I trust my memory, certain support workers I trust their memory more than mine.

What's causing you to wonder whether you're trusting your memory?

Not if I’m feeling super emotional, then I don’t really trust my brain, period.

Alcohol and mental illness. I think they make me create things. Or not remember clearly. I hate this.

Do you trust your memory of things you did when you were drunk?

Umm. Not like the emotional part of it. I mean I tend to feel really guilty and panicky the morning after drinking and I typically didn’t really do anything bad it just makes my OCD and anxiety peak when I drink so I’m convinced I did. I usually remember facts correctly but my judgement of them is skewed.

Ie: I can’t believe I told that person x about myself. I’m awful I wanna crawl in a hole.

When like yeah I really told them that and it was awkward but like it doesn’t make me a horrible person and I don’t deserve to suffer over it for a week.

For this reason I don’t drink very much anymore. I’ll have a drink or two when I go out but if I have any more my anxiety is just awful the next day, even if I didn’t do anything awkward at all.

I know that I tend to misremember what I did when I was drinking. Maybe other times, too. I take meds for psych stuff. I wonder if that affects my memory?

My memory failed me this morning on a job interview-I have not really worked in 10 years and she was asking me current event situations. Had no clue how to answer it just has been that long. With drinking my memory is not good at all I forget everything except what I am told I had the Police at my house to take me to mental hospital due to my drinking I still have no clue why this all happened. Hugs and love to all
