Hi,
As usual, Google is not helping me.
Does anyone know if, when you get sectioned, legal aid will cover you to instruct a solicitor on the day you're sectioned to argue your case or does it only cover once the hospital has set a date for tribunal? Can a solicitor bring forward the tribunal date?
When I was in hospital it wasn't made clear to me that I could have had free legal representation at my tribunal, I thought I wouldn't be eligible for legal aid. I'm quite annoyed about that with hindsight. Also think it's a piss take being able to use an interim CTO to lengthen your stay, effectively doubling the length of an emergency section. Anyway, besides the point.
Anyone have any ideas? I honestly can't face going to the CAB to be told by a kindly volunteer that they don't know.
