I had one pet I had to cone because he messed with his stitches to much. It was a cat who it very active. I usually confine them to one room for a day or two, and after that they alway been okay but I monitor them. Dogs are easier you can kinda calm them a bit more. Cats are just wild when they want to be wild. That's why I confine them to a room with very little jumping space if I can. The one who had the cone eventually learned to jump around the house in the cone. He is a crazy cat.

When it comes to the stitches coming out. There are a couple of things that might help.

There is the cone which they will put on if they suspect there is a chance she will pull them out or you can get (sorry forget what’s it’s called) a special jumper that she wears to keep them safe and sound.

If (and that’s a big if) she does pull them out, they will restitch (if needed) and probably put a jumper on her or in some cases they will let the wound heal open. That may sound scary but they will give you a cream to help it along. My old dog had that situation and it didn’t affect him at all, he kept it clean and in the end it was the better option for him.

Personally I agree it is the best option for her because when a girl comes into season it can get quite distressing for them and if you take her out, you will need to be aware of other dogs which won’t be good for her or even you Lu.

They won’t mix her up either. If I remember rightly they said it was only her and a Husky in that day? Even if another Beagle appears, Star will have her own nurse looking after her and they will note down any Identifying marks on her etc. They are super, super careful at these things.

Lots of

Glad she's home, if you have any concerns just call you vet. I have a emergency vet and a regular vet. One that open 24/7 the other is my usual vet. Juat so if anything ever happens I have a plan for where I am going.

Hope she's okay now she's home, I worry like you Lu about my pets.
Did the vet nurse give you advice on caring for her?
I'm sure you both will be okay.
Hugs

Last March i got my Jack Russel female spayed. Shes a jumper just like a cat. She was quiet for a day or so and then started jumping again even tho the vet said don't let her jump. I couldn't stop her. She was fine. She was just so happy to be home.
