Further to the debate about the effectiveness of anti-depressants there has been a really good correspondence in The Times with nearly every letter and comment being excellent.

One letter of special interest to me talked about psychotherapies and pointed out that the Government is putting all its eggs into the basket of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) when there are in fact 'four recognised modalities of psychotherapy' naming the 4 as..

1. CBT
2. psychodynamic
3. family/systemic
4. integrative

Can anyone offer a simple definition of these other (non-CBT) models, or point me to a web-site where I would find such a definition?

Thanks.

Nick.
