My relationship broke down unexpectedly just before new year and I am now unable to eat as I have no appetite at all. I want to eat and I'm worried about health issues this is going to cause, and how long I can survive like this! Today I have managed half a pack of instant noodles. I don't have anorexia and this is purely due to the depression and anxiety.

Is there anything I can do to increase my appetite or will I have to see a doctor?

I have suffered with undiagnosed depression for many years. It seems to be very difficult to get it acknowledged in the UK when you are someone who doesn't like to talk about it. I'm 31 and it seems to be affecting my appetite more in recent years.

It seems like my body is trying to kill itself due to this illness

Sorry to hear about your break up, never easy to deal with are they?

I would definitely see a GP, they are there to listen/understand and to help you back onto the right track, I have had depression several times in the past 9 years and it's hell, but each time I've come through it, and I'm sure you can aswell with help

Also, if u are struggling to eat, try having some nourishment drinks at least, they will help keep your energy up!

Also 31 was 27 when I broke up with my ex.

I hardly ate after I broke up with him.

Couldn't even stand the smell of food.

Took Pregnancy test and everything.

Lost 3 stone, was lovely.

Wish it happened again.

It's part of the grieving process imo.

Try and eat or at least consume liquids even if it's soup.

Take care.
