Even if I get 8 hours sleep I'm still exhausted during the day! But for months now my anxiety has been keeping me up all night. I'm always high strung during the day 24/7. I know alot of people are stressed but I'm being possessed here I cant shut off this adrenaline I have laboured breathing, panicking all day. After being up for 18 hours things slow down and I will sleep and my body calms down finally but I can't keep doing this it's killing me! I hear bad things about Ambien. I tried GABA suppliments and l theanine with no luck. So is this it do I have to pop Xanax and benzos to actually calm down and get some sleep?? I do meditate and I still can shut down this unrelenting anxiety. Please need help

Hi Lostwonderer12,

Before I start, I do realise quickly that you are in Toronto Ontario.

I am just wondering whether if you might benefit from a anxiety med called Pregabalin. This is a long lasting after once it kicks off and in, to your system, however, it's important that you maintain on the Pregabalin, once or twice a day, for it to be any beneficial.

I s tarted off on Pregabalin at 50ml, and now take 75ml, and a far happier dose for me.

i wold advise that you contact your doctor and if they can't specialise i mental health, then they ought to know of a doctor who can help and monitor your mental health s tatuses, at heart.

Good luck, and do let us know if you are able, how you are getting on, to find the right supplments or meds that help your anxieties.

Could you try lisltening to music through headphones, also, this might help.

Nice to meet you.

Hi
You will find that a lot of people on this forum also have this awful problem
I too am anxious all day - it takes every bit of energy & effort to do things & to be able to concentrate whilst feeling scared & panicked
When I’m not strong enough I give up and go to bed
I am constantly exhausted all day - I’ll get a few hours asleep then I dream & wake up
You’re right it does feel as though it is killing you - the adrenaline 24/7 has awful effects on your body - I shake a lot - wobbly legs- woozy head - lightheadedness- to mention just a few
Have you been offered any therapy??
I take one med for my anxiety/depression- but when I’m really bad it doesn’t always work. I have had CBT therapy which is good but when you’re feeling rock bottom it’s so so hard to put it into practice
I use meditation apps on YouTube
Also mindfulness also on YouTube
I hope you get some relief very soon
Xxx

thank you got the replies. i have heard about pregabalin but i havent really looked much into it. im currently taking a benzo right now how does pregablin differ? i think it could be a good idea to try it because is it an anti seizure medicine? i dont have full on seizures but i do have some issues that actually mimic small seizures. i get light headed easily and jittery after eating food and even after just walking! im a total mess

Your welcome.

On the note, of you're a total mess, I would advise that you contact your GP surgery, meaning a medical professional, i realise you're in the USA you do not have the same systems unlike in Britain, and or t o contact your mental health team.

We cannot give you a prognosis or diagnosis, on this site, so the best way forward would be to contact your relavant medical mental health care for your support requirements.

In the case of pregabalin, and I take 75ml, I have not heard of acute seizues t o happen, again, double check this out via your doctors, they will be the best people to advise.

Best Wishes,

Natalie.

Talk to your doctor, there are options for medicine to help. I take propranolol 10mg daily to help stop adrenaline production. I get the same way without meds. I also found that upping my citalopram 20mg helped me a lot. Being stuck in fight or flight mode is awful! Hope you can find relief soon!
