I am low, bored and short of money. I'm alone and losing perspective on things. Please help. I know it's difficult for many but I'll need a lot of pulling through...............

Hello Juliet. It sounds like a very difficult situation for you. I can empathize, I have a lot of difficulties in the holiday season as well. I really wish you the best. If there is any way I can be supportive of you, I would like to. I don't know what your particular situation is, but it sounds difficult. However, you are not alone. Many of us here struggle. Including myself.

I am starting to really sink. Must do a few things (not at all related to C) tomorrow and find motivation. I have to cling to hope in the New Year. I don't want to hear any more Carols, although I usually love Christmas music. Want it all to be over and normal routine. I always think you can literally feel the relief on Boxing day.

Boxing Day football! :D 👍

Me and the old man used to just sit and watch football on Boxing Day from noon until 10pm. Sadly he passed away this year, but I'll be carrying on the tradition. I'll have my phone by me to keep an eye on the forum though :)

Got fed up with Classic FM Carols. Gareth Malone's thing on at 9pm tonight looks great. He's fab. I'm trying to tell and remind myself that there's a lot of hope for me in the New Year and that I've achieved loads despite Depression and PTSD. I'm going to change things for myself in the New Year and move away from this area where I have no ties and very difficult memories. That has to be positive and therapeutic.

Yes. Perhaps that would be beneficial for you. You have a lot to look forward to in the New Year. I know this time of year is quite difficult to cope with. I have problems dealing with it myself. Take care. Thinking of you and hoping for the best for you.

I'm ok - I'm looking forward to the lighter evenings and hopefully mornings
in Feb. I think I must have a bit of SAD too.
I'm working (4 hour stints) this weekend, out walking with friends on Mon and will be alone on Tues/Wed. Don't normally do much for New Year nut always hear the fireworks!

The very short and cloudy days are depressing. I have a bit of SAD as well. It's good you are keeping busy and have some activities planned. All the best to you.

Hey Juliet, I'm feeling low, too, but can be here for you.
When in supermarkets I block music using earplugs, unless with family.
I like Christmas music, too. But not carols cos they have me in tears.
It could be Seasonal Affective Disorder lowering your mood.

Do you have any family, or a kind neighbour?
Could you join a town group such as ramblers, or a book reading club? These clubs don't cost anything.

Do keep in contact. I'll try and be here for you.

Nighty night,

Minty

I go to a Choir and occasionally walk with a group which i should do more often.
Exercise really helps and I've gained some weight which I'm really feeling and
affects motivation etc.
