no, everyone has personality traits otherwise you'd have no personality

but people with personality disorders are perceived to have negative traits

they aren't the same thing though

Psychiatrists often use the term personality disorder 'traits' as a way of highlighting that whilst you demonstrate some of the symptoms of personality disorder you may not meet the full diagnostic criteria for a personality disorder diagnosis. That is why, at least in part, that the ICD11 has added 'difficulties' to personality problems as a way of getting round the issue of being not meeting the full criteria.

We all have 'traits' in our personalities though, otherwise we wouldn't have one as the person above mentioned!
