I had medication available (ativan or xanax) but I didn't take them. I was tired and my breathing was elevated. I panicked yet it dissipated on its own, evening out the breathing. I am proud to admit that I was able to get through it without medication and let sleep reset my brain! How many people go through panic attacks without medication to help bring them down?

I used to rely on medication all the time but rarely use it nowadays. You should be very proud of yourself  Well done!

My old caseworker told me a trick for anxiety/panic attacks that works for me sometimes. Run your wrist under really cold water. The shock snaps you out of it sometimes.

Oh well that sucks. It doesn't always work for me but I get desperate and do it.

Hello
You’re soooooo strong....👍
I used to take Ativan but I now take Hydroxyzine that is antihistamine and works well for anxiety. I don’t have a panic like attack so far....

First off, great job! Thats really good to hear, i go through this a few times a week, usually at night is when i panic most, and especially if im tired. Fatigue seems to be the trigger for a majority of my panic lately. I also have medication and i try not to take it during a panic attack unless it gets really bad. Anyway, once again good job and keep up the good work. Were strong!

I haven't had a panic attack for a week! Ever since I let it wind down without medication, I think it convinced me I don't have to be dependent on substances to get out of the state, and I'll be more adamant to try that again next time. I also have been doing much better mental health wise and I have been addressing a lot of the issues in therapy. Thanks guys!
