I have suffered from anxiety for years and have been on Effexor. My dose has been increased 4 times. Nothing has really helped my anxiety except small doses of oxycodone. I have researched a little and have found a few cases where it worked well for anxiety and depression. Will any doctor prescribe this to me even if I have had an addiction to it in the past?

I've voted no because there is so much potential for addiction, which can only make matters worse. Have you tried any of the other antidepressants like citalopram (celexa in canada i think)? That certainly took the edge off my anxiety.

I've just read that you've already had an addiction to it so definitely, I'd say no.
