Today I told my therapist how I don’t open up with him completely and he gave me some tips. It was nice. He said to just talk freely and he’ll do the analyzing. Maybe it’s my background in neuro but when he said that I realized I’ve been trying to do the analysis myself while I talk to him lol. Talk about overthinking.

It’s sometimes challenging not to overthink analysing yourself, especially when you’re familiar with the process of therapy.
Congratulations on the realisation and here’s to opening up more!

WELL DONE YOU!! My advice, talk candidly but make notes of what he says. You can then analyse things using your notes when you get home.

I think it will slow me down instead of trying to just fill all the silence with my yapping lol

I did exactly the same @EstherRose94 and I am pleased I did as it helped me open up more. I am sure it will help you too. Good idea with the doodling! Did your therapist suggest it?

lol no i did. because even with friends family or bf i'm usually able to actually concentrate and slow down and converse better if i'm playing candy crush or something. i figured doodling might be a more appropriate version of that

oh yes I'm not good with eye contact
I feel I have something to hide
but I'm not sure what !

ive just decided
that I dont have to force myself to have eye contact !

come to think of it
I have taken various things into therapy
including drawings, fluffy pieces of fabric
pipe cleaners and plasticine !
