Ok so the past two days now like only when I walk my heart starts skipping beats pounding really hard I can barley breath it literally feels like my heart is on the verge of exploding and I can’t even walk now I have to sit down all day long like I’m scared to walk now like terrified to walk because I know my heart is gonna start going crazy..

I went to the hospital again yesterday and still they say I’m fine they say that I have had a full cardiac workup ive had so many test that they don’t think anything is wrong with my heart..
but here is the thing this is a new symptom though like seriously I can’t freaking walk I’m scared to walk now cuz every time I stand up and start walking my heart starts going nuts and beating irregular and skipping beats it feels like a fish in my chest every time I walk I even get up very slowly and still same thing I’m only 30 I just want to be normal but I can’t and I’m not making this up my girlfriend even checked my pulse when it was happening and even she was like holy crap it’s beating so irregular it’s scary she is the one who sent me to the er cuz she said when she was listening she thought I was about to go into cardiac arrest the way it was beating..

But then when I go to the er they find nothing and when I go to my doctor they find nothing but this is a new symptom and the er said so what I’ve just had a full cardiac work up and there is nothing wrong that they have found like can this be anxiety to??? Like for real like every time i walk I can’t breath my heart starts going crazy only when I walk can that really be anxiety ?? Dosent this sound like some crazy arrithmia or heart disease ??

The same as you i have an extremely high heart rate and have been under the doctors for it, mine was 125 resting and as high as 165 . Ive had ecg and been told its high but no problem with my heart its all down to anxiety. I’m now on betablockers to keep it low but even hen its rarely below 100. Its very common with anxiety to have a high heartbeat. If you’ve been checked and theyve found nothing, try to accept your ok but that you will have a high heartrate

Hiya. I can't diagnose on a forum obviously. Anxiety can do this and I am surprised that given that you have had all the tests no doctor has suggested you are investigated for it. We often think we have irregular heart beats when in fact they are regular its just some sound louder than others.

I would suggest you talk again to your GP and ask them for a further insight into what is happening to you. I think you shouldn't be suffering like this and its terrifying you obviously.

Well mine is fine when I’m sitting down but once I start walking it goes through the roof and I can barley breath so right now for the last two days I basically can’t walk I just stay sit down I’m afraid to even get up to use the bathroom it’s so scary I don’t know what to do I’m freaking out and it’s all I think about but they can’t find anything wrong with me

The doctors all say it’s anxiety but anxiety meds never help can anxiety really cause this only when walking I mean it’s crazy this is a new symptom though I’ve had anxiety for over ten years I’ve been to the er more times that I can even count over the years I have had all kinds of test done to my heart and they can never find anything but this symptom is new like I can’t even walk or I get out of breath severely

I can't diagnose as I said I'm afraid. If you are still worried you could ask for a 24 hour heart monitor put on you which clocks exactly what your heart is doing at different times of the day. Meds should work for anxiety if you find the right ones. I have had severe depression over the years and find that I had to try god knows how many meds before I found the ones which suited me.

Then that leaves MH problems doesn't it. I think you go back and ask for meds to help with that. I would suggest you look into therapy to see if they can help you.

Well I just can’t get myself to believe it’s anxiety I don’t know why but I can’t because this stuff happens all day long from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed it’s constant and as soon as I wake up I’m just obsessed with my heart and I constantly think about it till I go to bed at night I love in constant fear every single day of my life I can’t enjoy life anymore I don’t enjoy anything .. because I believe that this is not anxiety and the reason I don’t believe it’s anxiety is because I can be just having a good day stress free and boom I get irregular heart beats I get out of breath doing simple things I get crazy chest and arm pains .. I get skipped beats pvcs I can’t even have a beer with my friends cuz if I drink just one beer my heart starts going into a crazy arrhythmia I can’t do anything fun because of this I’m so convinced that this is a heart condition they can’t catch because I try so hard to tell myself all the time it’s not my heart but I’m telling you these symptoms are real very real my heart does this crazy shit alllllllll day long every single day

OK then - may I ask why you are posting on MH forum if you are convinced this is physical? I think there is doubt in your mind. It feels like you are obsessed with this now. All I can suggest is you go back to your GP and ask them for meds for anxiety that are strong and can work. If this calms down then after you have been on them for 4 weeks, then that is your answer. If not go back and ask again for help with this. Does that make sense?

It's not really surprising your anxiety and hence heart rate is racing if you are constantly thinking about it from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed.

Have you considered the mobile ECGs we suggested on another of your posts, such as Kardia mobile? Then you could take an 1 lead ECG whenever you are concerned on your phone and store it to show your doctor.

This is categorically health anxiety. I’m going through the exact same thing at the moment. I think we’re just more alert to our body which is a real hinderance. Like usually a palpitation during exercise would be considered normal and your average thinking person would brush it off, but because we have this body OCD as soon as we feel this slightly hard pump we go into overdrive thus the ‘fight of flight’ mode.

I sympathize with you, I may sound like I know how to deal with it but if I being honest I don’t. My symptoms completely mirror yours even as we speak.

I agree with the above post, medication would be a start. Until you can at least put your mind at rest.

Definitely anxiety my friend. I've had panic disorder and generalized anxiety for 20 years so I've unfortunately experienced most of the symptoms that it has to offer. My very first anxiety obsession was my heart, I could walk ok but as soon as I layed down off it went! Resting rate was 126 so Dr put me on beta blockers which helped to slow it down but did nothing for the obsessive thoughts. I too was convinced the EKG had missed some terrifying illness. I agree with others on here, finding the right medication was crucial for me and made all of the difference but it takes time so you've got to stick with it. What you're doing now is ruminating and you got to break that thought cycle.

Hi StarryKnight,

What medication did you find served you best? If you don’t mind sharing that is.

😊
