My therapist has offered me 2 options:
Be assessed and have an official diagnosis of my disorders and go on my medical record
Or not get diagnosed and treat off the record so there's no diagnosis of my disorders on my medical record.

Which one is best?, what are the pros and cons of having an official diagnosis?, good or bad idea to have disorders recorded on my record?

If you can get what you need without it, I'd always go without it.

The positive of diagnosis is that it serves mainly as a means to release funds for accessing stuff. If you're already accessing the stuff you feel you'll benefit from, there's fuck all to gain but discrimination. And sometimes a diagnosis can block you accessing what you think would be most helpful.

You can always look up what cultural stereotype applies to you yourself if you must, or ask what it would probably be. Or you could do what psychiatrists do, and get a monkey to throw a dart at the DSM once every six months.
