I am a parent of an adult autistic person who is nonverbal and has severe OCD that exacerbates insomnia and it seems the cycle just feeds and repeats it makes it really difficult I'm not only my son but whoever his caregiver is at the time.

I'm hoping to find someone who might share information or point me in the right direction to educate myself on how to help him

I find lots of information on OCD, however most of it comes from people that are verbal, my son is nonverbal and his OCD manifests itself in the form of gesticulations or obsessions with things like washcloths or electrical access boxes in the floors of supermarkets, breaker boxes in the home, it just varies, so far all I have found is general information or very very specific individual eyes information I'm really searching for new trials or medication based treatments really just anything at all as the OCD lends to insomnia which is really as bad or worse than the autism which I believe lends to the OCD it's a vicious cycle. It's very hard on my son and myself and his other caregivers. I'm really just desperate for answers and looking for anything that might improve his quality of life now and in the future.
Thanks

Have you read any Jean Vanier books. He started l'arche or the group home model. Back 50 years ago, he visited hospitals and saw the lack of stimulation.
