I had enjoyed a full year free from OCD without the needs of meds or psychiatric therapy, but over a week ago I got stressed out in College and I had a chaotic episode and now my OCD thoughts are back. I decided to rewatch my favorite series Breaking Bad on Netflix because of the spinoff movie that came out and theres a part in the series were a character is poisoned by Ricin. this triggered my obsessive thoughts that I'm afraid everytime I eat or drink, I get the fear that my food is contaminated by Ricin or other related poisons and that i'll die. I'm trying to get in contact with my psychiatrist but I don't know when an appointment could be set, and I'm all out of meds, so right now i'm holding on!

Try and focus on the facts. How would Ricin or other poisons get into your foods? They are highly regulated substances that nobody in the general population can get hold of.
How many people get poisoned with these substances in daily life? None.
Chances of you getting poisoned? 0% Just focus on the facts.

Can you take a bit of control and be vigilant about where your consumables come from. This is until you can see the professional because you cant get to the point of under eating and especially drinking. This is meeting yourself in the middle til you can get a hold of it. Sealed containers, things from tins, put your food away, take outs where others will be sharing your food too.
Big hugs Emi, ocd is a cruel monster  x

I was fine before my Mum had a accident, and I think anything like stress and accidents can trigger our ocd symptoms. Stress is the worst for ocd.

Sorry to hear that you are having to go through that again
